A white bodied ceramic wall tile with a smooth satin finish and rectified edges. The Polaris Satin is a digitally printed stone-effect tile inspired by natural Italian Calacatta marble from the quarries of Tuscany and imitates real stone without the inherent variation found in natural products. Calacatta marble is typically more white with dramatic grey veins than traditional Carrara marble which comes from the same region.

A growing demand combined with modern manufacturing has lead to the availability of affordable large format tiles. Also known as XL tiles, or simply “big” tiles, they create an illusion of space in smaller rooms as bigger tiles means fewer grout lines. The Polaris Satin is perfect for bathrooms where space is at a premium. Large format tiles may require two people for fitting and should be back-buttered to ensure that suitable contact with the tile is achieved. We recommend trowelling the substrate with a thick solid bed trowel (usually 12mm). 

As a rectified tile, the Polaris Satin is a tile which has been mechanically cut to an exact size. Both ceramic and porcelain tiles can be rectified but it is typically more common with large porcelain floor tiles. Tiles that are not rectified can have very slight variations in size so rectification produces exact facial dimensions with more precise and narrow grout lines when tiling.
